Formats
The FSP organizes three main formats annually.
Firstly, Global History Month takes place in October, featuring events that highlight the annual theme.
Following this, we hold the Global History Colloquium, a bi-monthly seminar titled "Where is the Global?" where Vienna-based global historians present and discuss their ongoing research projects. The presentations and discussions address the annual theme – (Im-)Mobilities – as well as key questions such as: What is our own take on "the global"? What are the archives of global history? How do we teach global history? And how can a global historical perspective make an impact in present-day social and political debates?
Lastly, we conclude the year with the Global History Annual Workshop in 2025, aimed at and organized by emerging researchers from Vienna and beyond.
These events offer dynamic opportunities for engagement with global history from diverse perspectives and scholarly approaches
